One wall of the museum presents interpretive exhibits about the experience of the Wilkes and Surry County Militia as they passed through this area in 1780 on their way to join the Overmountain Men at Quaker Meadows. After the battle, the victorious patriots marched hundreds of prisoners along the Yadkin River toward the Moravian town of Bethabara.
